Congratulations to Alix Desulme and Michael Holliday, who were recently named winners of Outstanding Young Floridians awards. Each year, the Florida Junior Chamber (Jaycees) chooses 10 active young citizens to receive awards for their exceptional service in a specific organization or profession. Alix Desulme, 34, will receive the J.L. McMullen “Good Government” Award for his contributions to civic life as a community activist, teacher, entrepreneur, North Miami City Clerk and now as a candidate for the Florida House of Representatives (District 108). Michael Holliday, 31, will receive the Col. William Carr “Entrepreneur of the Year” Memorial Award for his work in expanding his family-owned and operate business (Doc Holliday Landscape Service). The Florida Jaycees believe in everyday heroes and cherish the opportunity to honor them through the Ten Outstanding Young Floridians Program; awards were presented on Saturday, August 25th at 7pm, at the Florida Jaycees’ 2nd Annual Conference and Congress of Outstanding Young Floridians at the Crown Plaza Hollywood Beach Hotel.
